THE Syli Stars of Guinea beat Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia 1-0 yesterday to consolidate their leadership hold in a 2012 Nations Cup qualifying group that also includes two-time champions Nigeria.
The Guineans are top of group B with 13 points from five matches, three points more than the highly-fancied Nigerians, after they defeated the hard fighting Ethiopians.
Guinea who defeated Ethiopia 4-1 in Addis Ababa, scored the only goal of the game when Bobo Balde headed home from an Ismael Bangura corner after 32 minutes of play. With the final result ending 1-0,its now a tough job for the Super Eagles in Abuja next month when Nigeria hosts Guinea.
Nigeria, who is second on the group table with 10 points, will need a win to qualify automatically for Africa Cup of Nations 2012.

Guinea will top the table if they avoid defeat in Nigeria or score in a one-goal loss, while Nigeria need to win either 1-0 or by at least two goals to overtake the leaders since the opening round.
