President Mulatu Teshome met with a Qatari business group led by Sheikh Fahad Ahmed M T Al Thani on Friday (January 16). The President said Qatari investors would benefit a lot by engaging in the Ethiopian market due to the countries’ geographic proximity and underlined that the Government would consolidate support to investors who are keen to invest in Ethiopia.
Sheikh Fahad Al Thani told the president that he had visited various investment sites in Ethiopia and had plans to launch 4 investment projects worth some US$500 million. He plans to open a cement factory in Dire Dawa, a sugar factory in Bahir Dar town and animal fatting plant in Harar as well as an anti-malaria and cosmetics factory.
