Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom discussed with his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez Friday ways of strengthening bilateral ties. The two officials met in Havana at the headquarters of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
They have agreed to furthering ties, according to Latin America Information Agency.
During the meeting, Dr. Tedros expressed his gratitude and pride for the fraternal relations that unite Cuba and Africa, and especially Ethiopia.
He also expressed gratitude for Cuban cooperation with Ethiopia in areas of health, education, science, technology, and sugar industry. He also commended the cooperation of Cuba in the fight against Ebola virus in several West African countries.
Foreign Minister Rodriguez said Cubans are proud of their relations with Ethiopia which has solid foundation in particular and with Africa in general.
Rodriguez said Ethiopia is displaying encouraging progress in boosting the national economy despite difficult international conditions owing to the strenuous efforts of the people and government of Ethiopia.
According to Rodriguez, notable progress has been witnessed by the African Union and the continent as a whole.
