ERA, EEA Sign a Cooperative Partnership Agreement

The Ethiopian Road Authority (ERA) signed last week a cooperative partnership agreement with the Ethio Engineering Association aiming at expediting the transformation of the sector through specialized expertise knowledge and technology transfer.

Established by Ethiopian Engineers from Europe, North America and Ethiopia, the Ethio Engineering Association (EEA) aims to contribute to the development of the construction sector in Ethiopia. “This was a special moment we were expecting so that we could contribute what we have in an organized way”, Misrak Sultan, President of the Association noted.

Misrak Sultan also said that the Association is intending to provide support to the country’s transport sector on issues of consultation and designing. Bekele Nigussie, Deputy Director General of ERA said that this agreement would be instrumental and could be regarded as a new opportunity to access skilled professionals, expertise, know-how and technology in the sector.

On the signing ceremony, it was noted the ERA in collaboration with EEA, will be organizing the first transportation and safety symposium today (December 30) at Hilton Hotel.
