A meeting called in Washington DC for this afternoon by the EPRDF current regime agents in Ethiopia interrupted by the protesters.
The meeting held in the Howard university hall has to come end before the scheduled time because the Haward University police told for the meeting organizers there is a security breach so we are not allow you to continue. but as we witnessed from the outside the Howard University Police Department Chief Leroy K. James made an agreement with protesters and organizers to discontinue the meeting.
As we saw from the beginning of the meeting some of the people asked to show their invitation letter and a lot of people recognized by the organizers as a supporter of EPRDF did not asked a letter.
We witnessed the well known and the only free press journalists Henok semaegzier from VOA Amharic and Abebe from German Radio DW denied to attend the meeting.
EBS Ethiopian television broadcaster in US and Europe journalists not allowed to bring their Video cameras to the hall even thou they have an invitation letter.
Some of the protestors who managed to get in to the hall forced out by police and detained some of them. They told for reports they were insulted and brushed by the support of the regime in the hall when they tried to oppose the meeting.
Demonstrators show their opposition for the meeting called by Ethiopian embassy in Washington DC by chanting anti EPRDF/weyane slogans.
Sources managed to attend the meeting told “There was a briefing about the meeting and their 5 year plan but as soon as the question and answer time starts police notified them they have to evacuate them due to security reason.”
After the discontinuation of the meeting demonstrators chanted and sing a victorious songs for their dedication and before they parted to their way with joy they will repeat this tomorrow morning at 8 am April 10, 2011 by the Ethiopian embassy building Washington DC.
The invitation letter from Ethiopian embassy indicate the meeting called to talk to Ethiopians and Ethiopians by birth in the Diaspora about the 5 year transformation plan with delegation from the current regime of Ethiopia.
