Ethiopian FA Cup holders Dedebit will host the Seychellois side, Cote D’Or side in the second leg preliminary round clash of the 2015 Orange CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday at the newly built Bahir Dar stadium, 700 km north of the capital Addis Ababa.

Dedebit go into the return leg with a 3-2 from the first leg, which puts them in a comfortable lead.

Yohanes Sahile, newly appointed coach of the Ethiopian knockout champions tells that he is upbeat about their chances of progress at the expense of the islanders.

“We didn’t have special preparation for this match. Our first leg win is indeed crucial. With that advantage, advancing to the next stage is within our reach,” Yahanes said.

“It doesn’t mean that a win is guaranteed. We will play to win at Bahir Dar. A win in front of the national fans gives us maximum satisfaction.”

Dedebit’s performance in the Ethiopian Premier League has been far from impressive, currently occupying seventh place with a paltry 18 points from 13 matches. However, they put that behind to snatch a vital win in Praslin.

Midfielder Samuel Sanumi, who scored the crucial third goal in the first leg, added that the narrow win inspires them to do better in this weekend’s fixture.

“In the first leg we performed well in the second half and defended very well. We managed to get the full three points in the away match. On Saturday we will play offensive. We are hopeful to beat them (Cote D’Or) with an offensive approach.

“We have to avoid complacency to gain victory at Bahir Dar,” Sanumi told

The newly built Bahir Dar Stadium will host the second leg because the Addis Ababa Stadium is undergoing renovation for the impending 12th African Youth Athletics Championship.
