MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A Skagit County couple made their first court appearances on charges they abused their daughter to death at their home in Sedro-Woolley.Larry and Carri Williams’ 13-year-old daughter Hanna, adopted from Ethiopia, died of hypothermia in May. When police were called to the couple’s home in a gated community in Sedro-Woolley, they found the girl naked outside with bruises on her body and signs of malnutrition, police documents said.
The Williams are also accused of assaulting a boy they adopted from Ethiopia.Skagit Prosecutor Rich Weyrich asked that both have no contact with each other or their children, including an 18-year-old son who was in the courtroom.Both pleaded not guilty to charges of homicide by abuse and assault of a child.
