The Clark County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday identified a man originated from Ethiopia or Eritrea suspected of stabbing his girlfriend before killing himself as 31-year-old Michael Gebreneguse.
The fatal stabbing of a woman on the city’s west side and the death of Michael Gebreneguse a short time later has been ruled a murder-suicide by Las Vegas Metro police.
Officers found the of a 19-year-old woman’s body at apartment complex on Tropicana Avenue near Jones Boulevard just after midnight.The victim, who has not been identified, was in a relationship with a man who later parked his car at U.S. 95 and College Drive and stepped in front of a tractor-trailer, police said.That man died of his injuries at a nearby hospital.Police did not immediately release details of what led to the stabbing, but said the couple had been together for the past year and a half and lived together.
