Health Institute Gets Accredited

The Ethiopian National Accreditation Office (ENAO) accredited the testing and medical laboratories of National Animal Health Care Institute (NAHCI).

The accreditation allows the Institute to diagnose animal’s foot-and-mouth disease and ruminant animals’ tuberculosis and miscarriage beginning April 30, 2014, according to the statement from the Office.

The Office also accredited Hema Diagnostic Laboratory, allowing it to diagnose the rate of Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase (GGT), enzymes found in blood on March 3, 2014.

The Office has previously accredited Medical Bio-Tech, Addis Ababa Health and Research as well as Alert Hospital in some areas of clinical diagnosis since 2014.

Preparations have been finalized to begin accreditation services for institutions engaged in the inspection and certification sectors. Currently one inspection institute has come through a process to be accredited. The Office has given accreditation to clinical testing and laboratories in 17 specific areas, according to the statement issued by the Office.
