STOCKHOLM (AP) – Shumi Gerbaba of Ethiopia won a Stockholm Marathon that was overshadowed Saturday when a runaway bus plowed into a group of spectators, injuring six.
Police said the bus raced out of control down a set of steps and into a busy square during the 26.2-mile race. One man was seriously injured, while four other adults and a child were taken to the hospital with lighter injuries, medical officials said.
