KHARTOUM, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) — Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn will visit Sudan on Tuesday to boost bilateral ties, Sudanese presidential press office said Sunday.
“Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn is to arrive in the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Tuesday, leading a high-level delegation on a three-day visit,” said the presidential press office in a statement.
Desalegn would hold talks with Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to review means of enhancing bilateral ties and to hold talks on regional and international issues of mutual concern, according to the statement.
It added that Desalegn is also scheduled to meet with Sudan’s Prime Minister Bakri Hassan Saleh and Vice-President Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman.
The Ethiopian prime minister would be accompanied by a number of government ministers and officials.
Desalegn’s visit program includes giving a lecture on the Horn of Africa at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum and attending a cultural night besides visiting some industrial establishments in Sudan.
Last April, Sudan and Ethiopia declared a comprehensive cooperation between them in security, military, political, economic, social and cultural fields.
