Ethiopian Businessman Rejects Invitation to Meet Obama

(AddisNews) – Ato Wubshet Workalemahu an Ethiopian advertisement business person and former journalist reject an invitation to meet President Barack Obama at the day of his arrival for an annual religious event that he planned to attend.

In an Amharic interview with the local FM radio TadisAddis Ato Wubshet told he received an invitations from the Embassy of the United States in Addis Ababa and the government of Ethiopia foreign affairs office to meet Obama but since he planned to attend the annual religious celebration of the St. Gabriel at the Kulebi a town near to Dire Dawa where thousands of Ethiopian orthodox church followers attend to celebrate the day he rejected the invitation.

He also noted he travels a lot to co-coordinate a blood donation event in different cities so he might not be able to meet the president.

President Obama arrived in Ethiopia on Sunday, beginning a two-day stay and becoming the first sitting Unites States of American president to visit Africa’s second most populous nation.

Ato Wubshet meet Obama in his previous visit of Ethiopia as a Senator.
