Ethiopia: President Says Japan Genuine Development Partner – AllAfrica.com

President Dr. Mulatu Teshome said that Japan is a genuine development partner for deepening the popular KAIZEN philosophy in the country.

Holding talks with the outgoing Japanese Ambassador Kazuhiro Suzuki yesterday, the President said that Japanese age-long working culture has become highly supportive to Ethiopia’s development engagement.

He said the philosophy is playing significant role in improving organizational efficiency by implementing strategic and feasible development plan.

The President said that Japan is strategic development partner in supporting various infrastructural facilities including transport, water, and education. The two countries are also closely working in agri-business. Dr. Mulatu called for increased Japanese investors engagement.

The outgoing Ambassador Suzuki on his part said that Ethiopia is a showcase for African development attracting foreign trade and investment in the continent.

He also said that his country is supporting Ethiopia’s development drive through finance and mainly in trading. He added that besides importing agricultural produces, Japan also supplies machinery and related products.

The opening of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) office in Addis will help bolster trade and investment ties between the two countries, he said.
