Ethiopia: Pipeline update and activity mapping (as of 14 March 2018) – Ethiopia

Following the EHCT decision not to invest in permanent water infrastructure in Qoloji IDP sites, the water trucking requirements could increase if Government camp closure plans are delayed. Given that water trucking requested usually peak in March-April, and given current water requirements, continued access to safe water until June for nearly 1.7 million conflict induced IDPS, host communities and severely drought affected people will require some $12.6 million. A full pipeline break in household water treatment chemicals, soap and other WASH items will start in May. To offset the pipeline break some $4.6 million is required by now.
