Ethiopian Birr Converter
[...] Egyptian officials on Nile affairs met in Cairo and expressed their anger over Ethiopia’s new dam, inaugurated on Nile River last Friday. Hosni Mubarak of [...]
Hosni Mubarak also went to Italy to stop the financial aid being given to Ethiopia for Hydro electric Dams. What a backwarded thinking they have!!!?
F** egypt Ethiopia will go on as planed.
We of course know Egypt has kept vigilant on all activities around Nile and has also been blocking any aid or loan for development works there. They have sweated day and night to make sure Ethiopia remains unstable in various incidious ways so that it won’t focus on development. OK let bygone be bygone. Now that strategy is obolete because the downstream governments are united, determined and less corrupt to fall to bribes (direct or indirect) from Egypt. And also negotiations have been attempted for the last 10 years that even wouldn’t change Egypts politicians stabborn stand on the issue. So the remaining alternative in order to ensure a “FAIR SHARE” is to go ahead with the signing of the deal between such a large downstream majority. In my opinion, now the Egyptian politicians should be wiser and sign a deal that would also ensure their water security than campaining around (agian old tactics)looking for a fruitless embargo. Italy or China are giving loans and support not for Ethiopia. They are also helping their economy and gaining a strategic ally in such a competetive world. And in no way they will agree to the Egytian lobby. Ethiopia is also open to investment now and come and cultivate mega farms to help your economy and ours too. So Dear President Mubarek, please don’t waste your energy on a zero-sum game. Come back to the modern means. The ROUND TABLE.
