Lierse make Saladin Said coup

Unread postby ኦሽንoc » 25 Jan 2013 12:20

Belgium club Lierse SK has snapped up Ethiopia star striker Saladin Said.
Saladin told MTNFootball.com ahead of Ethiopia’s game against Burkina Faso that he was moving to Belgium after the Africa Cup.

"Before I came here there was interest from Belgium," Saladin said.

"We have agreed on terms and the move is 100 per cent done."

Saladin currently plays for Wadi Delga whose Egyptian owner Maded Samy also owns Lierse.

The 24-year-old, who joined Wadi from Ethiopian giants Saint George in 2011, is an instant hit at the Africa Cup just after one game played.

Saladin produced a man-of-the-match performance for 10-man Ethiopia who rallied to draw 1-1 with Zambia in both sides opening Group c game on January 21 in Nelspruit despite not finding the target and missing a penalty.

The striker was Ethiopia’s top scorer in 2012 with four competitive goals for The Walis in both the
AFCON 2013
and 2014 FIFA world cup qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Saladin said he wouldn’t rule out the possibility of playing in the South African Premiership sometime in the future.

“It will be good for me to come here one day,” Saladin said.

“There was a rumour not too long ago that one club wanted me but nothing ever came out of it.”
