Eritrea to support Egypt on Nile River water share

According to Eritrean ministry of information in Asmara, Eritrean Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Osman Mohammed Omar had talks yesterday with the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Esam Sharaf.

In the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed the Eritrean people’s message of congratulation to the Egyptian people in connection with the victory of the January 25 Revolution. He also expressed Eritrea’s readiness to work jointly with Egypt in all domains, especially the allocation of the Nile River waters.

The Egyptian Prime Minister welcomed fostering collaboration with Eritrea. In this respect, he stressed the need for Eritrea to maintain full membership in the organization of the Nile River Littoral States so that it may play effective role.

Dr. Esam Sheref further asserted that Egypt is keen to collaborate with Eritrea and other member states of the organization, and that a visit would be conducted to all member states, including Eritrea so as to work in coordination.

  1. what ever they said,we dont stop ur project,we alredy start z work..even we dont expect positive think from asmera leaders…all ethiopian fill our country in correct truck to build z dam…all ethiopians esp.diasporas u have to engage in diplomatic works regarding nile (what ever ur political view may differ..)..is diplomatic work is not for goverment rather 4 ur country..god blees ethiopia…

  2. I think the Eritrean dogs are trying to crave some crumbles of bread from Egypt in return for supporting Egypt. It is clear that Eritrean government is dying of economic blow and the only country that strategically could save Eritrea is Ethiopia Egypt will use it as a condom and throw it when it fails to serve.

    We will still be working on our blue Nile and hope they will clearly understand that dispute over the blue Nile with us will end up in sever lose to Egypt the only way out for Egypt is to work closely with us but as to Eritrea better to keep their wide mouth closed!
